Gene was born in 1932 in Vineyard, Utah. He attended Provo High School where he met his future wife, Lois Isabel Berkhimer. They were married in 1952 at the Presbyterian Church in Evanston, Wyoming, and lived in Salt Lake City, UT, Lynnwood, WA, and Cedar City, UT. They have been Olympia residents for over 14 years, Gene joined the Navy in 1950 and served until 1954, during the Korean Conflict. He went on to work over 50 years in the temperature control industry. Gene loved wooden boats and spent many hours restoring them. He was also a strong Democrat and loved to campaign for his party. |
